Our charism is a deep communion of love resulting from participating in the redeeming love of Jesus the Nazarene, in lowliness and purity of heart. In so doing, we receive the special grace to share the self-emptying and redeeming love of Jesus the Nazarene. Hence the redeeming love of Jesus the Nazarene compels us to be in communion with Him, by experiencing and sharing Gods’ Love and to bring the people of God-universe as a whole in to this communion.

The Charism of this Congregation is to spread the message of the Redeeming Love of Jesus the Nazarene to all the families by bringing them to COMMUNION with the Trinity and Communion with the Fellow Human Beings. Just as Jesus the Nazarene spent Himself totally even unto the sacrifice on the cross to bring the whole humankind to communion, the Sisters of Nazareth strive in their humble circumstances to continue the Redemptive Mission of Jesus the Nazarene concentrating mainly on the families .
About 2000 abandoned children have passed through the sisters’ care during the past years. Most of them are later married and lead a happy family life now. We keep regular contact with them and help them in their difficulties; they are also encouraged to build up a family bond among themselves and support each other. More than 500 children are given in adoption to European countries. Now Indian adoption is becoming more popular and many children are being adopted in India
The congregation has now grown spreading its branches to various states in India, Germany, Israel and Rome. It was raised to Major Archiepiscopal status on May 31, 1997. At present there are two provinces in kerala [St. Joseph’s (Angamaly) & St. Mary’s(Kothamangalam)]and one in North India, Christ Jyoti (Allahabad, U.P.). Today there are 650 sisters and 95 communities rendering services in 26 Dioceses.
